As I've said many times

I don't really have a problem with bundle pricing, though I do think $15/month extra is a bit excessive.

You also have to realize that many customers will have gone from paying $35.95/month for broadband (without modem rental) to $57.99 within the course of a year, almost a 65% increase in price. I'm pretty tolerant when it comes to price increases, but 65% within a year is pretty significant jump.

I'm currently on AT&T's $24.95/month for 4 months plan. At the end of the 4 months I'll evaluate whether I want to switch to SBC's $49/month/year (reg. price $59/month) DSL Deluxe package. The trade-off is speed - the cable tests around 1700/270. The DSL will test around 1200/240. It's pretty significant. In the two weeks I've had it, I've already had a couple bad outages on the cable, if that continues the decision will be easy.

$15/month?? That's nothing.
When Time Warner first offered cable modems here(it wasn't until late 2001) it was $79.95 if you didn't have cable TV and then $85 months later. I can't fathom the terror that they must have received bacause of that. I'm hoping that they made their decision to drop that policy because customer service reps threatened to quit because they were sick of getting harassed. That tells me the systems works.
