Our new home!!! :-D

Wow!

These are so cool! and they have been here for a while, I guess noone ever bothered to look at that 'All ISP's ' link in the main forum page. *sigh*

anyways... commence craziness here.

How can I move my Order status thread over here?

OK ... I'm here ... and like Justin said in our request for our own forum. If we get enough traffic here they will give us our own home on the main listing.

This forum is known only thru people that already follow the worldcom forum. Otherwise no one will know about it. So the only way to get new people to join this forum is by passing the words around.

Just did a speed test

About 1270/630 and I think they said about 9000ft from the CO.

After the wait it was worth it for the speed increase on the upload - I was with Northpoint and had a SDSL 768 both ways and I really missed the upload speeds.

Who? Dslreports? or Cyberonic?

Cyberonic and Directvdsl both had given me that distance.

I can't find what DSLreports had given as a distance I will look or do another check.
edit - Found it they said 5800 ft

Thats weird, from 9000ft to 5800ft I wonder what's going on.Well anyways the reason I'm asking is because dslreports shows that I'm 10822ft away from CO and my Cyberonic dsl speed is capped at 768/384. I'm waiting to call them soon so I can ask them to raise my cap and test set it at 1500/768.

I have an Idea I am between the two distances I am on one side of a river and the Co is on the other side I don't know where the wires run over/under the river but I can drive to the CO and it is just over a mile. I think if you get them to raise your cap you should get some increase if it doesn't then you tried.

It is great to have a home, even if it is just a little fixer-upper. We need to get Cyberonic on the big board....

I love this new home. Do you all realize since we were made aware of the new (existing) Cyberonic forum the number of Cyberonic posts in the Worldcom and DTV forums has even more increased. How can we get folks to publish their posts here instead?

Welcome all but this doesn't appear to be working out very well so far... most people are still posting in the WorldCom forum...

Seems I have found this place...

I'm not currently up with cyberonic yet... and am a DTV refugee

Here's my story so far:
Ordered on 12/31/02
received Cisco 678 on 1/8/03
DTV cut my service on 1/9/03
Cyberonic said I'd be up by 1/13/03
1/13/03... nothing, so I called and now it's 1/16/03
1/16/03... nothing, so I called and now it's 1/20/03
1/20/03... nothing, so I called and the guy says "I can't ping your modem"... well DUH!! now it's 1/21/03,
1/21/03... nothing, so I called and now it's any time now
1/22/03... nothing, so I called and now it's 'We are waiting for the local telco (Pacbell) to swap the line over, you line order was put in on 1/20, (what happened to 1/13 and 1/16?) and it usually take from 1-3 days for them to complete that. Then he tells me I should be up by next week. Long 3 days, huh?

So I am still without connection at home.

Also, when I phoned in the order and set up the 5 email accounts, they misspelled two of them (too bad there's no web interface, no New England accent there), they said they can't fix the email accounts until the line is active.

Isn't this fun?

Does your Cisco have a green WAN LNK light? I waited a week of no internet because it turns out Cisco modem was not configured for my line.

negative, no WAN link light and the DTV modem doesn't sync either.
