macado join:2000-09-18 Revere, MA | bandwidth lowered? Yesterday I came home from work to find that my internet connection was going very slow. So i did some speed tests and I couldn't get anything over 320kbps for a downstream, I as also getting lots of erratic results such as 40kbps for a downstream, browsing the internet was almost unbareable. Now the second day my bandwidth seemed to have stabilized again but I can't get anything over 320/345kps which is crap compared to my regular 645/346 bandwidth that I pay 50 bucks a month for and never had "any" problems with..Is anyone else experiencing any similar problems? |

 | Telocity is having major routing problems. That is probably causing your and everyone else's slow browsing speeds. |

When does Telocity ever not have major routing problems? |

Actually, for the first week after I was switched over from Phoenix, my routing was great. I was getting performance than I had with Phoenix and my Phoenix service was fine. But then recently I've gotten to learn the reality of being a Telocity customer. sigh. so this won't get better or if it does it won't stay better for very long? |

 | reply to macado If you have Phoenix and are waiting to be moved, I'm told none of us have been billed since Jan of this yr. Who are you paying the 50 bucks to? |

macado join:2000-09-18 Revere, MA | reply to macado This is an output from my Cisco 675 dsl router.. cbos#show interface wan0 wan0 ADSL Physical Port Line Trained 384 Kbps down; 408 Kbps up; 136 down baud; 136 up baud Line Quality 19 dB TX Power +10.1 dB Remote TX Power +14.3 dB GTI FW Rel B.90
My service is supposed to be 768/408. I used to get that up until a week ago. Does anyone have any clue why it was changed? |

 | Hi, At 19dB your line quality seems pretty low. You should check the wiring physically, making sure there are no shorts, cuts, etc. Is there still a chip at the demarc? If so, it needs to be removed. Do you have a POTS splitter? If not, you might call your provider and have one installed. Good luck

macado join:2000-09-18 Revere, MA | maybe i didn't explain that well enough. I have done nothing to my line however my speed was been lowered (outside problems?), it used to sync fine at 768 so the problem is definitely outside my house. |
