Though Gregg Morton, vice president of governmental affairs for BellSouth, says there's nothing to be afraid of and that the bells are simply looking to ensure some degree of regulatory certainty for their investors.
"There's an effort right now to try to turn this into something it's not," he said. "There's no hidden agenda here. BellSouth isn't trying to change its obligations under the Telecom Act."

Oh yeah? To those who follow this saga, there is an agenda....but you're right, it isn't "hidden"....it's very well known.
Bell is flexing its' regulatory muscle again in lieu of getting TD passed, and again chooses to employ extortive tactics to hold entire states hostage.
People in South Carolina need to wake up and get involved. Let's go now....
