North Palm Beach, FL | RIP Telocity/DirecTV DSL I was among the many early Telocity subscribers. There were some bumps in the road but during the past twelve months my connection was rock solid and never dipped below 1200/212. Customer service was one of the best and they sincerely took care of their customers. On no less that two occasions I had modem failures and replacements were shipped out Overnight without any charge. While I'm exceedingly happy with my new ISP, DSLi I will miss Telocity/DirecTV DSL.

| Realistically, are these modems worth anything? How proprietary can they make dsl modems? |

A toast to Telocity!!! Down with DirecTV!!! Telocity was my first adventure in broadband. Installation was flawless, customer service and tech support the couple of times I needed it were superb, and the service was flawless. After hearing about other people's nightmares with DSL setups, and now having to endure my own ongoing nightmare switching to Verizon, I have to admit I'll miss the luxury it was be a telocity customer. The whole interface was so much simpler I took it for granted, and now I miss it. 3 cheers for Telocity! As for DirecTV-If you couldn't turn a profit at $60 a month you don't deserve to be in business. To add insult to injury they couldn't find the time to release my line so we could get on with life. From what I'm hearing, I only hope they don't take another month's payment out. Screw the refund-just let me go!!! Damn you DirecTV!!! |
