Re: Dell TrueMobile 1150 Firmware v8.72 Updater

So far no dice here all I get is "no wireless card driver found" even after trying about half a dozen different drivers. Windows XP, Dell TrueMobile 1150 PCMCIA. IF anyon figures it out let me know.

Last year I couldn't get the 8.10 firmware on my 1150 PCMCIA (no problems with miniPCI). I even hacked the firmware updater myself to ensure the correct string for the PCMCIA card was in the file. My guess is that the same problem exists with this hacked firmware updater.

Today I have my 1150 PCMCIA card in a RG-1000 and it works great. The RG firmware updater recognizes the 1150 PCMCIA card and updates the firmware. Gave the Orinoco Silver card to my dad along with a spare RG-1000 (he has the "all Silver" setup).

No help if you don't have an Orinoco AP, but at least that should confirm someone else had problems with 1150 PCMCIA and the hacked firmware updater.

Please re-download 8.72 again. I think I discovered the issue with PCMCIA cards not being detected in 8.10 and original 8.72 downloaded here. If someone needs I can fix 8.10 as well to work with PCMCIA card.

The following version of 8.10 should work with PCMCIA card should someone needs to downgrade from 8.72...

»/r0/download/2···v810.zip

[Update (2/19/03): Updated the zip file to have independent firmware updaters for PCMCIA and MINI-PCI cards. Earlier firmware updater did not work with PCMCIA card]
