Re: Midwest IPs began resolving today

When I nslookup my IP I get:

Name: node-xxxaxxxx.bos.onnet.us.uu.net
Address: 66.58.11x.xxx

(where X is me blanking out the number!)

So what does this mean? What's so good about it?

The 8 hex digits after node- are your IP address in hex. Some Internet servers/services won't talk to you if they can't do the reverse lookup (get a name to go along with your IP address). Having a meaningful name also makes network support much easier.
