| Tokyo cell phone I just came back from Tokyo and bought a Sanyo J-Sa04 model cell phone for $20 new Yes $20.Out with the old in with the new.This model has color LCD screen,built in camera,SMS.long email and web capable.No sign up fee and no contract.About $30 a month.
Battery life is not as good as the simpler Kenwood color LCD phone I had before .Charge every three days.I think in Japan the lifestyle is not the same as the US in many ways so the market is different.Even outside Tokyo were there is more travel by automobile most people have cell phones and not the obsolete stuff you find in the states. Finally in Japan I think that the DoCoMo,J-Phone/Vodaphone and AU can earn more money because they have content to sell along with the regular voice service.
One thing I did notice is there are very few Motorola or Nokia phones and I didnt see any Samsung. Free trade doesnt apply there.
