DescentWrap It UpPremium join:2000-11-10 Hoboken, NJ | Another story from Telocity...no switch on Thurs. well...I know you all are not surprised that the story has changed...I figured I'd call Telocity again since I didn't get the brick and they told me all Rhythms were being switched on Thurs. NOT!
"but Telocity won't switch you for weeks because they just got your credit card number and have to do a credit check ....so it will be at least 10 days..." said the second Telocity operator.(my new motto: SEEING IS BELIEVING)
I advise everyone who has not talked to Telocity lately to call and give them your e-mail address because that is how they plan to notify us when it is time for the switch. Basically No e-mail = no notice, and Phoenix did not send them our e-mail addresses.
This Telocity rep also said that no charges would happen until AFTER the switch, for services received, meaning NOT ahead of time. Didn't someone post that they were charged ahead of being switched?
still waiting.......and happy with what I have........... |

Mrq5The Fab Four join:1999-08-21 Warren, MI | Shesh, Im so confused with this switchover. Everytime I called Telocity I get differnet story as too status of my line. After calling Migration team they explained that I wasnt in database and I should call Sales. After speaking with Sales I was told that I was in their system with an actual order#. The Sales Rep appeared too be the most informed, she explained that Rhythms has no plans too drop lines in my area(Detroit), in fact Telocity has Rhythm lines in my area now. She explained that my order shows that Telocity in fact shouldnt have a problem switching me over. Now when the Rythms switchover occurs is another story. I spoke too this Rep Thurs(3/15) and she did confirm that the switchover was planned for that evening.
Hehe, woulda been more encouraged if the Migration team told me all this stuff the Sales Rep told me. Maybe they are using separate systems/databases. Would be much better too hear it from the Migration team Im in the database rather than the Sales team. Maybe the Sales team will migrate us over:) BTW- I still have an active DSL line as of this Friday morning. |

Having been without a connection since Feb 23rd and calling twice weekly since then, I was hoping for some good news on the 15th. Especially after I'd been told that Telocity would be finished DLing Rhythms info by Monday the 12th. No such luck.
I called Thursday the 15th and was told that I'm still not in the Telocity NY database and that they still don't have all of the information from Rhythms - maybe by Saturday March 17th. Try calling again early next week.
I did ask if they would be able to provide service for all former Phoenix customers and was told that, yes, they would. I asked because if they couldn't, I was hoping to void the contract and look elsewhere but I guess I'm still waiting.

| Why is it so difficult for these companies to provide a complete customer database? If done right, everyone's in a single table, tagged as a PhoenixDSL customer. It should be a simple query, extract and mail process! -- =C=

Wolf7 join:2000-11-20 Griffin, GA | That's what I have been wondering for three month now! Not to mention giving a straight answer and some decent information. After everything has been said so far. I got this from Amy at Phoenixdsl TS. Had posted it in another thread. But will add to the confusion here also. ------------------------------------------------------------ Just got an e-mail from Amy, at the Phoenixdsl helpdesk. She had gotten my line up and running again. A small glitch on Rhythms end. But also partially answered a question for me. So this will add further confusion to this already confusing mess.
"Wolf,
From my understanding...ALL of the lines will be transferred over to Telocity, unless of course you cancel. I tried to figure out when yours will happen, but I don't have that information yet."

 Wolf7 join:2000-11-20 Griffin, GA | OK....this is the second e-mail from Amy. ------------------------------------------------------------
Wolf,
Tried calling your house just now, busy...but I'll just go ahead and tell you through email. I honestly don't think that the information you received from Telocity is right. I'll keep an eye on your account, and Ben's as well. If I see that your date is coming up for the transition, I'll let you know when it is. If Telocity says that you're not in the database, its a very good possibility that they still don't have it complete. I'll be back in on Monday, so I'll keep my eyes open from there
You have a great weekend as well,

------------------------------------------------------------ Well is anybody else as confused as I am now? Makes one wonder if Larry, Curly & Moe are running these companies. It would seem that the few people that have a clue. Are the ones that will be out of work when this disaster is over. -- Regards from the Southland Wolf |

hey Mrq5, Did you get your order number from the sales department. I was given my order # and told it was the best was for them to look us up. See if Telocity Migration team can find you by the order #. Did you give them your e-mail and credit card info. I was told I couldn't be switched until they did a credit check on my credit card. |

Re: Another story from Telocity...no switch on Thurs. I didnt write down my order# but the Sales team does have 1 for me. Its just confusing why the Migration team is clueless about me. I will probably call again Monday and this time I will get the order# from Sales.
I feel little better now that @Home Cable is now available in my area. With their 'self install' kits at Circuit City, which hooks right up too the my recently installed Digital Cable box I understand I can be up & running in a matter of hours after making the initial order. I really dont want too take this step since I would hate the veryyyyy slow upload speed caps Cable has in place now(128kbs max with many I hear getting slower). However the much faster download speeds is tempting, as high as 2-3mb from what I understand from others on this site.
I really think my DSL line is better suited for me but now at least I do have real options in the event my Rhythms/DSL line dies & Telocity gives me run around with an extended installation process. |

Didn't get the IM. My e-mail (for the time being, I s'pose) is johnq@phoenixdsl.com
I'll be calling Telocity tonight (Monday the 19th) for an update. We'll see if they finally have that elusive Rhythms database yet.
