reliable DNS servers in San Francisco/Bay Area?

Hi,

Like everyone else discovered by now the Cyberonic DNS servers suck (just like their customer support, email servers, etc.) If it wasn't for the Worldcom lines they resell, then they would not have much ...

So, question is, did anyone find any fast, reliable DNS servers in the SF/Bay Area?

Thanks.

Cyberonic doesn't run any DNS servers, thoes are Worldcom DNS servers, so if you think that they suck blame Worldcom.

It seems they run one and it is the default when you use DHCP: 4.17.179.2 (magic.cyberonic.com) Oh, did I mention it sucks?

Try either 198.6.1.3 (San Jose) or 198.6.1.146 (Sacramento)

I went instead with the SF PacBell DNS server and as backup the SF Speakeasy.net server. Now I get really fast DNS replies.

The problem with the 2 above is that they have a low ping time but DNS queries are very slow, they sometimes time out.

Are there any known DNS servers for Cyberonic in the midwest / illinois area?

I am also running .4 and .5 currently and am experiencing spotty service...

Find one (or two) here:

The names for the speakeasy DNS servers are .speakeasy.net (example: sfo.speakeasy.net)

is pinging the DNS servers the best measure to use, even if you don't change the dns server setting first?
