So just sit back and RELAX. Don't go ape like the idiots that switched when DISHonest retailers told them that Charlie bought DirecTV and was going to run them out of business.
Furthermore, I have one more reason that I would never give DISH my business, ever, especially since their ad appears on this racist, bigoted website. | |

I'm not a big fan of NBC anymore. I find myself watching more shows on FOX and CBS lately, and I like FOX News for my news. But in anycase, just because GE would own DirecTV, doesn't mean you would see any more NBC programming on it.
I do think that since they have the Olympic broadcast rights for the next billion years, you would probably see some dedicated channels show up that would cover Olympic events live as they happen, and then the NBC stations and owned channels would do their usual tape delayed coverage.
I wouldn't mind GE buying DirecTV, certainly sounds a lot better than the other two, but Murdoch doesn't sound bad to me either... can you guys tell me some things about his past? I know I don't like Charlie Ergen (Echostar) but the other players don't really bother me... so can you give me and us some insight into why each of these "potential buyers" could be bad for DirecTV customers?
Also, GE doesn't sound bad, because if their NBC company was in charge of it, at least the company would be run by people who know the business of broadcasting. Of course, if that does happen, what would happen with their other channels? Would NBC become anal and start using their ownership of both a content delivery system and content providers, to strong arm companies that might compete with them?

Murdoch is well known for his views against HDTV. Many people feel that if Murdoch buys DirecTV, that HDTV is doomed. Others don't want Murdoch to get DirecTV, because they felt that if Charlie can't have it, then no one can.
Charlie is probably afraid because Murdoch has alot more leverage programming wise, owning News Corp (FOX, the New York Post etc) and British Sky Broadcasting. They fear that Charlie would have an even harder battle supposedly fighting with programming providers all along. | |

we don't care who gets it but we don't want murdoch to if dish got it it would have been nice to have 90% of the channels in hdtv.
if any other providor gets them the same should hold true the medium should not be controlled by the media... it just shouldn't happen.

As usual, EatMe can't but help tripping over himself to slander Dish Network.
What he really meant to say people is not that Dish Network's Ad appeared on some site, but that "VMC Satellite"'s ad appeared on said website, which apparently is a shock talkshow of some kind. Interesting insight, though.... I guess EatMe will have to cancel his DTV service considering some of the sites where it's been advertised... Nah...!

Sure, VMC is only a retailer, but if they have afiliates like Hal Turner, you have to wonder what Charlie lets slide. I have complained before about DISH retailers spamming me, but so far to no avail, and I am still getting spammed. I must admit that I was spammed a very long time ago for DTV service, but in recent times the only SPAM I have been getting related to Satellite is for DISH. | |

Dude who cares where the advertise they are in this to make money. Do you go and ban stuff thats sold on talk shows like Howard Stern or anything like that. He is sexist toward women. Man just please go back into your cave. your tripping over your own bull$hit.
The game is to make money and if you have a community of racists and it's an untapped resource as far as selling tv gear and stuff if there is a big market their you will go after the said market if you want to survive. Companies do it every day and make a killing
