SBC: Stupid Last year SBC sold americast (SBC Ameritech's cable division) to WideOpenWest. Although americast was the BEST cable provide I have ever had (1000000x better than Comcast) if SBC buys DIRECTV, then they will sell it within 5 years (just like they did to Ameritech, and SNET's americast, although I think SNET didn't sell americast like Ameritech did). SBC Ameritech's americast was ranked #1 by JB Power and Associates (»www.jdpa.com/studies_jdpower/pre···dyID=555) in 2001. Now DIRECTV is #1 (and I heard WideOpenWest is the runner-up, but I'm not sure). SBC probably would keep DIRECTV independent to some extent like they did with americast. SBC and other Telcos a lot of the time don't want to offer video services (that is why they sold americast), which will be a problem with DIRECTV, I have no clue why they want to aquire it.
