I am trying to get digizip;order accepted>modem shipped>cancelled>rescheduled>cancelled.
Bellsouth now claims fiber in the line.Although I had DSL long before they started deploying RT's and am 1.7 miles from CO estimated 10351 feet »/dista ··· dSKfZnC2
Trying to get verification.But can't seem to navigate the Bellsouth "customer support"maze.
May have to look elsewhere.

update FRI 2/21/03
Finally got a call from a Bellsouth supervisor,who will find out by Monday AM about the fiber issue.
So I'm on hold till then.

I agree that the horse is dead. So is RapidSys in SFL.

yeah i think they are stealing money with this game

that "speed disclaimer" suddenly appearing on their www site isn't gonna protect them....

RS would be wise to cough up refunds to everyone affected and call it a day rather than to risk any class action suit or anything....not that i'm saying i'm for a class action but there was that other thread someone posted saying we might need to go in for that or level a complaint with the state

there is always the CC dispute process i suppose

to me RS seems to be taking things personal as if we are the fault of all the problems

i think most everyone here has been really nice and courteous and forgving in their approach with RS so far but bad blood can come from a lack of response and commitment on their part

DO THE RIGHT THING RS!

I'll miss all you guys complaining n stuff ..hehe j/k

I'm still here too. There are four of us here in Gainesville who have no other reasonable (I say reasonable, because they are other choices but are highly overpriced) choices so we're stuck for now. Speeds have been around 200/220 lately, but it's better than dialup. I spoke with their tech and he is going to get more information and call me back later this evening. They have never not called me back when they said they would, so I'm waiting to see what they are going to do.

No posts in 3 days? We probably cant log in to post! Its happened to me a few times... This latency has gotten to me. Enough is enough. I really do get some descent download speeds sometimes when I am getting large files, but the most important thing - SSH access (this is TEXT people!) - is just too lagging to bear. I always knew satellite service would have a huge latency, but I cannot imagine even THAT being this bad. I cannot check my email via a text-based interface easily! Writing a letter, coding, whatever else - near impossible. I feel like I am type-dictating a letter, and the slowpoke modem is slowly pushing it through. I am seriously considering biting the bullet and paying another signup fee to switch to DSLI... I am getting no answers.

DSLi or Netrox would be my choices. From all reports Netrox has their act together. I can tell you that DSLi's performance so far has been excellent. Newsgroups are phenomenal, email occasionally had some brief outages which was corrected. Connection speeds consistently average around 1247/220 with minimal latency. Support is excellent if not rushed at times but issues are addressed immediately. Activation takes generally 3-4 working days from time of order. Just to be clear I'm a DSLi corporate reseller (VAR) but also a very satisfied customer.
