Allen, TX | [Connection] Symetrical wireless Broadband in Allen Texas Theres a new service in Allen and North Plano from a company called Purely Online (purleyonline.com). Check their web site for availability.
They advertise 1400-1400kbps last time I checked in Nov. I havent seen them mentioned here so I thought Id give a lil input.
These guys are brand new so I had to show them a lil slack during install since they were still trying to get a feel on how to do installs. They provided an antenna which was installed in my attic. Later, due to latency issues I opted for the $100 "bigger" antenna which was installed on a pole about 20 feet up. With this set up I got test result around 1300-900kbps.
The price was $29 for 3 months and $49 a month after. The surf experience was similar to Att cable, although I did notice a slight blip of lag during online gaming. They explained that the blips were due to "retrys" or the antenna missing a signal for a split second. Probably due to my antenna installation. After a 30 day trial period I decided to keep Att due to "slightly" better gaming performance.
Give them a try if you dont have other broadband options. They said they may be adding service in the Frisco area soon.
