Crazy DIAG loop (BEFSR41)

This is an informational post in case anyone else runs into it. I ran Chekawa's »www.sdesign.com/cgi-bin/fwtest.cgi basic scan (nice one, btw) on my system and after a few minutes into it this SR41 went into a wild loop...

10 seconds connection ok
5 seconds DIAG light solid, connection down
10 seconds connection ok
5 seconds DIAG light solid, connection down
etc.

1.38.2 beta f/w SPI/AllPassthru OFF, lots of forwarding, all static IPs, 1 LAN host (.2) on at the time.

The one thing unusual I had programmed was I had DMZ pointing to .251 (no host there) and BlockWANReq OFF (my way to reply to ICMP ping but not every SYN). I'm sure lots of scan packets were hitting this.

Front Panel short RESET did not stop it.

I could access the setup page and after a DIAG light it didn't re-ask for the password.

Setting DMZ back to .0 (OFF) finally stopped it (or it timed out, who knows?).

It scared me back to f/w 1.37 (DIAG lights make me nervous :-o ).
