Re: [Poll] Name for the Blades A "blade" is like your computer, but without the case, the hard disk, CD, or floppy drives, and no monitor, keyboard, or mouse. It's just a motherboard (preferably with built-in video and network capability) that networks back to a main server.
They're called "blades" because real blade servers have long thin blades that mount vertically and can be slid in/out for quick replacement. What we'd build is a home-grown version of the real thing, using standard computer parts instead of cutting edge technology.
