Refund!!

Finally got my refund ($4.66). I cancelled on 12/30/2002 and it showed up today. I didn't think they would bother.

The final accounting is $19.95 (first month service) - $4.66 (prorated refund) - $50.00 (web certificate sign up incentive) = $34.71 that they paid me to use the service for about 20 days.

I wonder if they could have stayed in business (and not put so many people out of work) if they had not done all of the incentives? For the short time that I had the service it seemed reliable.

I hope that the ex-employees have been able to find new jobs.

I got my $1.67 refund a few days ago. I must say that my switchover to Cyberonic was practically seamless and I had no problems with the DirecTV billings. I am also sorry to see them go.

Kind of interesting, I got over $88 refunded, and I didnt even ask. The money just showed up- I kept my service actively running to the bitter end. (The line still even sinks up, just cant get out of the DSLAM to the internet )

It took until February before I got my refund for my August 2002 cancellation.

Still getting billed, even though I disconnected in January of 2003. The odd part is they are billing me for odd amounts
like 18$. I wonder if their is anyway to get my credit card
company to disallow Directv from charging my card anymore?

Only because of those who intentionally took advantage of them (sign up with every intent of leaving after trial, etc), or those with no tolerance of anything but INSTANT perfection... and would take no part in figuring it out. (like MAYBE something of theirs wrong)

Well, directv just tried to slip in another charge on my CC after LOSING the DISPUTE.

Time running (March) out on orginial CC charge for last months service. Promised Directv partial months credit no-where to be seen. Asked CC to dispute 39.99 as I got only 6 out of 31 days of Jan 18 to Feb 17 service paid for.

A couple of days later.. Directv offers 34.99 credit.
Hmmm.... must be that new math..

Time.. Passes.. Directv loses dispute. Their 34.99 credit reversed, April 18, re-debit'd.) 39.99 credit sticks.

Now.. here is the kicker.. got CC statement today..

There is a brand new April 20, charge from DTV*DIRECTV service for 39.99.. Whoa.. Grrrr...

Ex - Employees......

Well, speaking as former employee of DirecTV DSL, most of us found other jobs. We were able to stay in the same type of job respectively. I, myself was a billing agent. I worked there almost a year before they shut it down. My fiancee worked there as an Order Status representative for about a year as well. And as I am sure most of you might have noticed, we were all trained to be what was so lovingly called, "Universal Reps". I do miss working for DirecTV DSL but basically, it was just some poor decisions and failed mergers that brought that portion of the company to it's knees (in my opinion). If there are any other former DTV DSL employees out there, please comment.
