It did great on the tests on the JV 16 powertools web site. It comes with alot of other useful tools as well, and has a windows XP style interface. They have a 30 day trial. Keizer

(Norton WinDoctor is pretty good IMO. I'd probably keep it on standby as a third tool unless i though TweakXP Pro was better. Cleansweep is one you can cross off your list straight away... it does not record or remove all registry entries.)

i have only used JV16 with XP but i would recommend it above those you have mentioned e.g System Mechanic. take a look at these threads for some more recommendations.

System Mechanic or jv16 Power Tools?
Safe/Easy Program To Delete Registry Entries?
Best Windows XP registry cleaner?
JV16 reg cleaner

for future reference... before recommending any of the tools i would suggest using an installation monitor e.g InCtrl5, InstallWatch. even though these are not cleanup tools they do a better job than Cleansweep of recording registry and file entries. Installation monitors will cut the amount of utilities you are currently using by 70%. personally i wouldn't use anything other than an installation log to double-check an effective reg-cleaning session. even though it is a little off-topic have a read of this thread for my comments on installation monitors uninstaller software

*edit* unless they beat you to it ask a mod to move this post to the software forum... you'll get more feedback.
--
"be careful of the toes you step on today, they may be connected to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow"
[text was edited by author 2003-03-27 06:35:32]
