| Twisting your arm so you won't get DBS Since other Cable companies aren't a threat, this is purely a move designed to hurt people who use DBS (DTV, Dish Network) and don't want cable TV.
They want to force people to switch away from DBS and for current subscribers to not leave them for Satellite.
They call it "marketing" and "bundling" but I call it "Price Gouging" and "Unfair competition."
Until the FCC passes a law that says that you can't *penalize* people by charging them more for NOT signing up for a service. In other words, you shouldn't be able to charge a DBS user more for Cable Internet then you charge anyone else for Cable Internet.
Giving a discount for signing up for a lot of services is one thing (bundling). This isn't it. This is penalizing people who refuse your service and go to the competition. -- "When the day comes that anyone can bend our countrys laws and lawmakers to serve selfish, competitive ends, that day democratic government dies" -- Preston Tucker, 1948 (Yep, it's dead.) |
