Re: Nice

Doesn't do much for me. Stands out too much like a "sore thumb". I guess it may help a new person find how to go to the next page, but I never found it difficult in the first place.

I like the new button, could be smaller though ... does it actually cover some of the additional pages too?

In my page view a forum showed five pages but I was actually able to hit next page to see pages 6,7,8,9 but never saw them to the left of the button.

The image is too high, making the paging numbers align to the top of the cell. Perhaps add an align="middle" or align="absmiddle" to the image? Or slim down the image a bit (or two).

Wouldn't it be cooler to just put a little pop up box on the little page numbers so when your mouse hovered or moved over them it would pop up and say "next page"

Even the totally clueless could figure that out.

Maybe a smaller, less obtrusive next page button would be nice. This one, let's just say it's a little TOO obvious.

Remove it now!!! it's annoying, repulsive, and fugly. The text "next page" was a lot cleaner and nicer. make the madness stop!

It's a huge horrible animated monstrosity...
Agreed, simplicity is best and this well.. looks atrocious. If you want to get people to pay attention to it maybe just decreasing the size and losing the animation would help from the original link but still get peoples attention.

Nice, gets the point across, but now it is too big. Very obtrusive.

Seems just a bit garish. Didn't know the n00bs needed to be lead by their nose-hairs on some sort of site exploration lesson.

Where's the "PREV PAGE" button?
Or does that come tomorrow?

What is the point of having a big glitzy next page button, if the user won't be able to find their way back?

A definitely bad idea, IMO.

I understand the want/need, just tone it down.;)

May I change my mind? Of course I can. I am a woman and have the God given right to do that.

In retrospect, and in looking at the post where the topic started, I think that you are correct...it could use some toning down and/or being made smaller and do the same thing that it is doing now.

The more you look at it, the uglier it becomes.

Re: Nice

Click for full size
I want to give a big thumbs down to this one. For one, the button doesn't match the format or colors of the site. Second, it looks like what people put on webpages who are just learning how to code in html. Honestly guys, very unprofessional and not up to the quality that I am used to from DSLr. The constant changes around here after months and months of a nearly perfect product are disturbing. I'm not asking to change everything back, but this hidious animated "next page" button needs to go!!!!

I'm still waiting for that PREV PAGE Justin.

PS: I am unable to view how many pages are in a forum like I used to be able to do.

I guess that damn big button is in the way..lol

Add a PREV PAGE button now!

sorry justin, but I'd have to put an *object* (oops.. wrong forum )

seems too...cheezy.

slim it down, cut out the animation, and make it work with all themes and you have yourself a good button.

OR

leave it the way it was.

It's not jazzy enough, it needs a turning signal sound everytime one of the arrow signs flash. That ought to get the users attention and show them what direction to travel.

Ack - it's still here. I thought it was just a leftover from April fools day. If it gets any bigger, it will be larger then the BroadbandReports logo in the top left of every page.

Why does it need to be an image? 1 | 2 is just text as well as 95% of all other links/nav on the site.

>> is what is used for next thread... can't that be used here instead too?

Anyone use one of those butt-ugly color themes/schemes for the forums like bright blue on black with glaring yellow bold stuff ?? How's that image look there ??
