Re: Nice

See, it was a great idea! The original one just looked cheesy! New one is 10x better!

Still don't think it is necessary, but the new one does look a lot better.

cut it down to 1 or 2 blinking arrow

I agree with skj that the new grey pointer is much better, It's toned down and don't scream in your face. The first blue version was more a version you see on "hey let's put up a cool personal website". I have visited some webforums and none had that in your face pointer. This forum should be professional but fun to stay in. It's about webdesign and the first version was very bad. This new grey one is better but I find it not needed.

You could also mark up the visibility by adding some room between the row of pagenumbers in it and the listed threads and by doing that giving more visibility to the numbers below and the added pointer. Or have the background colour of the page a different shade of colour for better visability to the row of text with pagenumbers.

Is 3 arrows really needed. A test to see is to put the mouse pointer over two of the three blinking arrows and decide if you loose valuable information.

"prev page" would be better, but I'd still never use them.

Just looking at that picture, to me makes this new feature such a slow way to change pages, you know?

I really liked:

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 8.....39 >>

Much better.

Well, you could always take it this far...

In all seriousness, how about just the Fast Forward, Rewind, First Track, Last Track buttons like on a CD Player??

Make the arrows active

One idea would be to make each arrow active. That way you will have all choices within a small footprint and get good information from it.

You could cut it down to 2 arrows and widen them so the clickable area is larger. This is because the last one is set by days so that fast forward can be construed as equal to last. Then you could add the yellow mouse-over text as you have on the frontpage for labeling each arrow for function.

active wide arrow 1 = next
active wide arrow 2 = fast forward/last
