| Well OOL installed.. but it is horrible  terrible packet loss with the gateway.. my connection is practially uselsess. I can't even keep an IRC session going longer than 5 minutes
OOL = Cablevision's Optimum Online  supposed to be 5000/1500 for as little as $30/mo. I pay $40 since I don't have cable TV!
Now it totally sucks that it is practically useless at the moment and my modem turns out to be the worse of the 3 available

I'm Screwed! I am a sys admin for a medium-small corporation owned by a Japanese parent company. As of 3-28-01 17:00 PST, our LA office went down. We were useing NP through UUNET (a MCI company) for their DSL connection to communicate through a VPN tunnel with our office in GA. We were not given any warning and UUNET won't do hardly anything about it. As a temp solution to get the office shipping and functional again, I've walked one of the employees through configureing 3 computers to use dialup.
And the Japanese are all over my butt about it.

Re: Disconnected people...how are ya'll communicating? I have PacBell DSL but its not working right all the time. I have ASI techs coming over to have a look at the line, hopefully its going to be ok. |
