I'm betting this is something they already had. Although my modem is still happily talking at 412/412 to the DSLAM that AT&T now owns, the AT&T prequal site informs me that 144 IDSL is the best they can do for me... Not that I'd ever again buy something from AT&T. |

Re: Where can I find if I can get att dsl or msn dsl ? My wife just now hung up the phone after ordering DSL through ATT. She was asked if she wanted the router and she said "no" and ATT said "okay." If you wanted the router it is an additional $10 a month.
We had MSN/Northpoint, signed up for Earthlink DSL and finally gave up working with them. Never did get their modem to work. They could see the old NP modem but not theirs. I called EL everyday for 2 weeks spending 3-4 hours on hold each time, talking to 6 different people who kept passing me on to someone else. We have had DSL service for 2 years, first with GTE then MSN and never once did we have any down time and now Earthlink said that we can't get DSL due to bad lines. Funny thing is we had 1.5/356 for 2 years and we are only 4,000' from the CO.
Now that we've canceled Earthlink it feels like a huge weight off my shoulders. What a rinky dink outfit.
ATT did a line test and they said everything is fine. They will send out an installer to rewire at their expense if need be. The wait is going to be 30-40 days but I can live with that.
We are getting the business line rate, $79 a month, but I willing to pay that rather than logging on to a 56K modem

Whose network does AT&T use, other than Covad? I thought a no from Covad meant no for AT&T too. |
