I guess the best way to explain is when the second half of your word gets to the other end and decoded at the exact same time as the first half. Voice really needs to be consistent to sound correct. This can be made worse if there are re-sends due to inconsistent data (errors in the data).<br><br>When you are interrupted or in a very active conversation it really does matter. One second may not sound like much but it really is when you actually talk to someone. ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/310450"><b>bwhitney</b></A> : The average delay on satellite for a round trip ping is 700 to 1200 ms ROUND TRIP (at least on Starband), typical is about 800 ms.  Each way is about 400 ms typical.  That can be worked around for large economic savings.  The only problem in the delay for voice is when someone stops and is waiting for the other party to respond, the satellite delay will only ad about a second to this delay.]]></description>
