I guess posters here didn't read the newsclip... VDSL does not rely on copper, it's built on fiber optics. That would explain the cost factor. OTOH it would be nice to have an alternative to cable.

I know how it works... I'm saying I think it would be better for companies to invest in ethernet or ATM over fiber instead of VDSL -- #SympaticoSucks on EFNet for all your sympatico rants.
