Returning my Telocity High Velocity Gateway

...um, make that my Telocity Zero Velocity Gateway.

I remember the first email from Telocity a few days after being disconnected from Northpoint that said they had ordered new lines that should be ready in 3 weeks. Then a week later, another email that said they had just ordered a new line that should, again, be ready in 3 weeks. I guess the first one was just April fools (early). Well, maybe the second one is, too.

When I called the main number a few days ago they couldn't tell me anything about the new order and just transferred me to the special hotline, where I was on hold too long and gave up.

They said they ordered a line-share, and I know my line won't support that (I need SDSL). Even if I check status on Rhythm's site, I only qualify for 208k SDSL. You'd think they could at least get the basic pre-qualification done electronically. But I guess not.

I don't have much faith in them getting a working line to me anytime in the near future, if at all. Not that I really expect much different for $40/month. I'll probably try to cancel tomorrow.

On April 4, in the morning, I put an order in for a Speakeasy/Covad 384k SDSL line. By April 4, in the afternoon, I had a line install date of April 13.
