macado join:2000-09-18 Revere, MA | transition supposed to be done but no service? I'm in the same boat as a lot of people right now. I orginally had PhoenixDSL/Rhythms (760/480) until Phoenix devied to die without completing the transition of my line. So I called up Telocity and according to them I have already been moved over. At this point they gave me the appropriate settings to use with my Cisco 675 DSL router, username, password, dsl id, etc.. I have a steady green light however no service. As far as I know all my settings are correct. I can not ping my gateway (destination host unreachable) and the telocity rep could not ping my modem. After troubleshooting this for about an hour I figured I would call back later and try again.
Has anyone in this situation had any success in getting their service to work?

Most of us non-standard customers (we don't use the telocity gateway devoce) are being set up on a router in chicago. I suspect the router belongs to Rhythms. I also suspect they butchered the setup of all our accounts, and are too busy setting up (destroying?) other accounts to come back and fix us.
I've had my Trouble Ticket going since Monday, 4/2, hot-escalated 5 times, and nothing so far. |

 | Are you also a RADSL (Cisco 675) customer? Almost all posts from Cisco 675 users are the same - sync but unable to reach the gateway. When I call TS, they can't ping my assigned gateway either - if they do a traceroute, it dies in Chicago.
Also, I have been able to access my new email through webmail at home.telocity.com. I have also been able to FTP a web page up to the web server. However, I have NOT been able to access "MyAccount" from home.telocity.com; I get a timeout while trying to access hostname cfchicago.telocity.com - there we go, Chicago again!
There also seem to be a lot of posts regarding service outages in Chicago. My guess is that this is a problem bigger than just a RADSL issue. |

Like you, Mikewu99, I can get to webmail and ftp to the web server. I was just told by Tech Support that you can onlt access the "My Account" page from the Telocity network - it's a 'security' thing.
Down 7days, 9hours, with no ETR and Tier 2 not making the callbacks I was promised.
Why on earth are they routing us through Chicago? |

 | reply to macado Got my gateway (SDSL) on Friday. Got sync but could not connect. Rhythms said I was not in their migration spreadsheet, so I still pointed to the defunct phoenix server, and that only Telocity could add me. Today they say I am in the list, along with about 1400 people. They might have us done by tomorrow. |

That's what I assumed from the beginning. I specifically asked the first 4-5 support techs if I can access the "My Account" page from outside Telocity's network and they ALL said I can access it from anywhere on the Internet. I feel better knowing it actually can't be accessed from outside Telocity - but I feel worse that most of the support techs are unaware of this basic fact.
My latest guess: we have not been migrated yet. All the account and setup info is in place, but Rhythms/Telocity has not done the switchover. We just went dead when Phoenix shut down. |
