Re: NOD32 Version 2 final release Unpackers seem very weak, but at least it's a start, NOD isn't even close to McAfee or KAV's unpackers, but I am glad they are at least attempting. Good job NOD Team.

I agree about the unpackers but it seems to me that NOD32 has a more effective heuristics scanning then McAfee but I could be wrong? I haven't used McAfee in a long while but understand it has become a lot better then it had been for a while.

Hi, no McAfee heuristics scanning is also superior to NOD's I was trying to prove this when, I was banned from their forum. NOD missed a bunch of viruses, while McAfee detect everyone, the ones McAfee didn't have a signature file for heuristics scanning detected it.
The ones NOD didn't have signatures files for, NOD's heuristics scanning missed them, Now this version heuristics scanning seems better than the older one, I am scanning now, and heuristics scanning is now detecting some of the viruses the old version was unable to do.

I use McAfee 7 which has detected trogans that Nortons AV didn't see. I'm a little apprehensive to use a product that spins fast but doesn't detect. McAfee has a good program that works and works well. Why switch to a unknown commodity? |

OH NO .. here we go with McAfee again .. has anyone noticed marti's original thread is titled: "NOD32 Version 2 final release" .. gang, are we able to stay on-topic here and discuss the new release of NOD? Or do y'all want to go off on another tangent? I refrained from saying anything BUT .. this is not fair treatment to marti and all the NOD-users who want to discuss NOD's new release {as the thread topic says} .. they don't wanna talk about Norton, McAfee, PC-Cillin, Kaspersky, etc. .. OK? Let's stay on-track and on-topic here, please.
