How close to get 3mbit package?

How close do you have to be to CO to be qualified for the 3Mbit/384k britsys package?

Also, will I be able to use my Linksys befsr41 router? I currently have bellsouth dsl (covad)

Thanks

I think the cut off for 3.0/384 is around 8000'

Do you qualify on our online prequal?

If you order the service with 5 static IP's you can use your linksys behind the supplied router.

The zyxel router supplied has NAT, DHCP, port mapping capabilites like the linksys.

Alright. I'm right at 3,000 feet from my local CO. I ran the prequal tool on your site, and I am qualified for it (so it says). However, I remember calling several weeks ago and the sales rep told me that I was qualified for the 1.5mbps package.

If I went with the 3Mbit/384K ADSL package w/ 5 IP's how would I set that up so each computer has its own WAN IP address? (NAT?) I don't recall the Linksys router I have, being able to do such a thing.

Also, if I bought the 3Mbit/384K ADSL package and I find out that the speeds aren't 3Mbit - 20% overhead, can I just switch to the 1.5Mbps package under the same contract? (ie. not being charged for canceling service or changing service)

It is possible that the DSLAM in your CO is not configured for the 3000/384 DSL. I can manually prequal the address if you want to IM it to me.

If you order the 5 IP package you can either assign 1 static IP to each machine of you can purchase something like a sonicwall that can handle multiple WAN IP's.
Many people use a linux machine to do the same thing.

With all of our business class packages we guarantee 80% of the sync speed after 13% ATM & TCP/IP overhead.

The 3000/384 would be 2088/267 at a minimum.
We have a few customers using it and getting about 2600/350 in speed tests.

There is usually a charge for downgrading the line but we may be able to get Covad to waive it if you cannot achieve decent speeds consistently through their network.
