PingPong: I have no doubt about what you say. Again, I can only say what I've observed. I have had a very stable system that I believed I had optimally tweaked for maximum resources given what I want to have running (NAV, SetiSpy,BlackIce and an Email notifier). I was as surprised as anyone to see an extra 3%. The only additional tweak I made was adding the ConservativeSwapfileUsage one. No deletions or additions of anything else that has been mentioned in this thread were implemented. Anybody else get this effect?

I added more memory to my machine a while back to a total of 384 mb. I could not figure out why it was still using the HD to write to. Well this fixed it and the HD hardly runs now. I just used the Conservativefileswap=1 line. Should I use anything else? My 386eh shows:
