LOL - We're all nuts! Actually, I was working, believe it or not. I think it's much like slowing down on the freeway to get a better look at the accident. My employer's wife called into her employer (UTMB) and they actually had a recording that said if they didn't come in that they would be subject to "disciplinary action". Can you believe that?!?!
I was watching the local broadcasts this morning and all I can say is the reporters were being a little dramatic with their reporting. I dare say most of the on scene reporters had never been through something like this. It looked a lot worse than it really was, at least in Galveston. The Channel 11 reporter was especially dramatic with her reports. I drove all over town, except out west, and the worst damage I saw was at my own house - a good sized tree limb down. Other than that, most of the important damage is yet to be realized. Beach erosion, especially out west, is going to be the big story when things die down.
