[HSE] I've conquered what I thought was never possible!

Well the Bell Tech came, changed all the phonejacks and he found that my NetVista telephone had a small short which was causing some problems to my internet, so I got rid of the phone and then he found that my alarm system(aged, 17 years old) which uses a RJ45 jack for phone so he had to get a custom filter on that. Well, after about 3 hours of working, we've finally finished and I've gotten the speeds and latency I've paid for!

HOORAY! Glad to hear it!

Now get over to »56k Lookout! (broadband heavy) and put that bandwidth to some use. You've posted enough in this forum for a while

Thats great! Your line results were pretty pathetic before. Can you post the line stats from AlcaTool now?

They upgraded your profile too it seems. Did it cost you anything for him to do all the wiring changes? or did you have the wirecare plan?

Yes, the technicien didn't charge anything at all since we had the WireCare plan. Normally, something like this would cost $100.

The guy was nice enough to call the CO to verify that my connection was sync'ing correctly and with good speed(I've got a max attainable sync of 4200 or so). I'll post a linestat within the next hour or so.

You're lucky you didn't have to pay anything, since the WireCare plan doesn't cover DSL related problems, and only Bell Canada related problems.

I wonder if the tech still would not have charged you if you weren't with Sympatico?

Anyhow, glad to see everything works now....

They gave you a special filter? I wish they would put a special filter on my enterphone..or even install the stupid POTS filter I have right here. I'm still not giving up though.

BTW:

GOOD STUFF! lol.

Used line rate : 2028 kbit/sec
Fast used Atm rate : 1728 kbit/sec
Interleaved used Atm rate : 0 kbits/sec
Rel. capacity occupation : 45

Very nice... You can even get Ultra now, as it requires a 3488 ATM sync rate. Hows that for a change eh?

It's refreshing.

I'm so happy. I don't know how long this is gonna last though. When I first got Sympatico, it was similar to this. Low pings, full speed, then everything deteriorated after that.

Well they found what was causing your problem..so I would think that would be fine.
