Been having a good nap?

Phoenix went almost bankrupt in September 2000, and was bought out by Megapath in October 2000.

Megapath grabbed off the business customers in November and December, then gave/sold the residential customers to Telocity.

Telocity worked on transitioning residential customers to their network from about Jan 1, 2001 on. They had almost finished when the NP fiasco surfaced.
Now, even Rhythms is questionable as a CLEC.

The Phoenix Help Desk stayed active until Mar 23, 2001.
Then they closed the door.
Some good people stayed on to help until the bitter end.

What a situation? I thought Phoenix was still alive. It's good that they went down because they never even had a helpdesk person at anytime.

Don't see any thing good about the loss of Phoenixdsl! They provided a much better and more stable product than what I have received from Telocity. And I never had any problems getting a problem resolved by their very competent TS staff. Unlike the amateurs at the Telocity support desk.

Unfortunately their management didn't appear to be as competent.

Well,

I'm still waiting to find out about how good/bad Telocity is. They still deny my existance. Now the story is that the migration is over. Funny thing is, in checking with Rhythms, I'm told that Telocity ordered my line disconnected, and that I'm on a 'do not migrate' list....... If I could get service for the same price promised, I would in half a heartbeat.. IDSL sucks 'cuz of the cost.......

What support staff are u talking about? Anyway, I'm not saying Telocity is better they suck too. But we have no other choices than to go with what's available.....its all controlled by them and I guess customer is not the King anymore. Phoenix was good upto a certain point ...but they could not keep their end of the bargain for too long. They tried everything possible to stay above the water but the rotating vortex just sucked them in.

Well, there were several of us at one time. We were taken out just like the rest of the dsl isp's. I can personally state that the St Louis dsl service was almost never down with the exception of a test dslam in the Baldwin area which was a Northpoint/SBC test site. Im sorry you feel the way that you do, but everyone goes through growing pains, some of which end business.

That is true! Was a very stable connection. Unlike Telocity. Down now three days and no projected resolution date yet.
If you ever see Amy tell her I said hello and wish here the best.

Hi Mousy, it's good to see you here. Sure do miss you and your team mates though.
At least you never told me that it might take two weeks to straighten out a routing problem. And you always called back when you said you would.
Professionalism seems to be fading away in this industry.

Take care and keep in touch.
