Hmmmmm, interesting question. I'd have to say first thing I would want is a nice telephoto lens with macro capability. To go with that I'd like a k-mount light ring for illuminating up close.
A little off the beaten path, I'd like a larger telescope. Something with a motorized equatorial mount for tracked long exposures.
More than anything, I just want the time and money to go places to take interesting photos. That's more important than any piece of gear. |

I'd like an adapter...one that will hook my dsc-f717 to my Meade ETX telescope without vignetteing. Otherwise, I'm a happy camper right now. |

As I have said several times in the past year or two, my wish has nothing to do with specific equipment, but industry direction.... get over the pixel war and create more film like pixels as Fuji has recently with it new SR 4th gen. Super CCD sensor with multiple sensitivity photodiodes to yield increased dynamics or in film terms, contrast ratio. (Somewhat similar to the human eye's combination of rod and cone receptors)
Still only a start though... hires mediocre pixels are still pretty useless if all they can do is make razor sharp black or white lines, but low dynamics in between the two extremes.
Let the pixel count wars come to a truce, and let the quality wars begin!!! |

Hayward, quality doesn't sell in the consumer world. Numbers sell.

In the mainstream you are probably right, but in the higher end there certainly is.
Cameras like the Fuji S602 (and now S700) Minolta 7HI Olympus C750 SONY F717
and other clearly the interest is in quality as well as just big MP numbers.
And all those who don't really need the lens interchangability of a true SLR for as much as thousands more.
And BTW even the dSLRS have lots of pixels but still not near film quality in high/extreme contrast situations where there is also very subtle and varied tonality.
I think there is definitely the desire for this in the prosumer and pro fields... probably the manufactures just haven't heard it enough yet from users. And the new Fuji SR is the first CCD to even explore the possibility really.
Personally the day the Fuji S7000 was released I expressed my displeasure to Fuji that they put the HR CCD in it instead of the newer and more dynamic SR, and also telling them I will NOT be upgrading from my S602 until there is... no real point... I don't need another 3mp of effective pixels near as much as the increased exposure dynamics and fexibility. I doubt many other S602 users will either, so they are limiting themselves to new comers only, instead of reselling to the already believers who would probably give it immediate very good word of mouth promotion. |

To be honest I don't really have a wish list right now. I plan not to invest any more money in digital cameras for a few years until the technology matures a bit and prices come down to reasonable levels on top end equipment... |

I have the etx 90ec...I love the optics and portability, but the computer is hard to use, and so I mostly do manual finding. I am probably going to upgrade to a larger Maksutov in the future and am looking at the line put out by Orion now. Fewer electronics and beefier construction for quite a bit less money. No pics yet as the scopetronix adapter I have vignettes terribly. |

I guess my wants are a little more realistic:
PhotoShop 7 Nikon 5400 LG Electronics GSA-4040B (to back up all the photos)
Okay, I'll make a couple of wild grabs for stuff I don't really need:
Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro Nikor AF SLR lenses for the S2

Now that I read the review on the magazine link Fredus posted, I've changed my mind. Instead of the Fujifilm S2, I want a Nikon D2H.
