they don't get it!

no wonder they are losing money! yesterday a sales rep called and offered me free dial up access for $1 until October! then i told her i had Verizon DSL and she began talking about AOL Broadband for only $$ bucks a month.

*my bad, $$=represents whatever the AOL Broadband price they are offering now, but when i asked if it was $55 bucks for the service, she said yes. *

Even at $40 (which according to their site its $55) it's 33% higher than Verizon (who BTW, includes MSN 8)

Get the ultimate in speed, convenience and online access with unlimited 24/7 broadband cable/DSL access for just $54.95 a month billed monthly. You'll enjoy exclusive broadband enhanced offerings like…
At $55/mo it's nearly TWICE what Verizon with free MSN 8 costs. Hardly a value. Even with BYOA it's 50% higher.

It is now 40 bucks. All ya gotta do is call for the 40 buck rate. Just go into the AOL broadband forums here at dslreports and you will see everyone has been reduced to 40 bucks which includes unlimited dial up on top of their broadband access. BYOA..is a measly 9 bucks without dial up. It is now exactly the same rate as Verizon except Verizon does not include unlimited dial up.

Okay, AOL is "only" 33% higher than a regular ISP.

HUH..Verizon is 39 bucks here. Same exact price except no unlimited dial up.

Well, according to Verizon it's $29.95 or $34.95 (including MSN 8) depending on the level of POTS service you have with them. »www22.verizon.com/forhomedsl/cha···rice.asp

If you're satisfied with a substandard ISP, more power to ya.

35 bucks..hmm they lowered it 4 bucks. That is also without unlimited dial up (which is great when you travel and included in the price of AOL Broadband.).. By the way..my telco IS verizon. And yup, i do very much enjoy AOL streaming broadband content and dont feel its substandard for what they deliver in the least bit.

So again, you're paying more for bad software, cheesy videos and slower service. It's your choice.

Thats your opinion, not mine. My service aint slow(right up to my telcos cap and NEVER lower),I dont consider wathing a rare concert of "Lou Reed and the velvet underground" the least bit a cheesy video(HAHA..jeesh anything but cheesy) and the software works beautiful here and have never had a problem with it. I also have been on computers for now 20 years so your talking to no newcomer.

Your service isn't slow? You stated in another thread that you got provisioned at under 900kbps. How is that not slow? Add to that the latency of the proxy.
