Re: BitTorrent problems w/ Linksys modem?

I have this exact same problem, but with a scientific atlanta webstar modem. Connection just drops when using bittorrent/emule etc etc. I have narrowed this problem down slightly as far as it is a cable modem problem. Not a router/NIC/fierwall problem.... so you arn't all alone when you're isp tells u it's your hardware thats crap, not their crappy modem and get very angry.

The number one problem with this issue is that everyone who suffers it is using, ehem, programs which are slightly, um, illegal! I've searched 1000's of forums with very few answers, and after hours of tests the best i can come up with is limiting the number of max connections if using a modded bittorrent, or emule. I find the main problem is the maximum number of connections every five seconds options... turn it down to 15 and hangs certainly don't come as reguarly. Anyone have a permanent solution out there?
