Couple of things I like about it are
a built in editor so I can crop
The ability to save in bmp, jpeg, gif......
And the fact that I can do a bunch of screenshots and then do the editing one by one and save them without losing a "clipboard" image when i do the next screenshot.
Lots of ways to do it and lots of programs, a matter of individual tastes and preferences, just thought I'd toss the one I like in.
