Cell phones are out

Not surprising, the news is reporting people are lining up 10 deep at pay phones because cellular service is either jammed or has failed.

I can attest to this. As far as Central NJ, both landline AND cell phone service is hit or miss at best. Dial any number on my landline (732 area code) and you get a fast busy signal immediately. Incoming calls are sporadic at best.

On my cell phone (Sprint), I can make calls, but only if I use my voice dial service (which routes to a call center in Kansas). Incoming calls seem to be working (assuming the other phone can call out), but voicemail is out.

Cell phones and landlines are back in NJ. Not sure about further up north in NYC though.
