Pretorious : By default your quick launch folder should be located in C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Open your file explorer and go to that location and see if you can read or see the files there. If not, try scanning your hard drive for lost sectors or corrupted data and allow the system to fix all errors automatically. You'll have to reboot with this method.

Another way although a little more dangerous would be to go to that same location in your file explorer and delete all the contents in that directory, even the directory itself, then re-create a new quick launch directory and add the items you want to appear on the task bar to it. You'll have to name the newly created directory EXACTLY as it was named before you deleted it in order for Windows to find it.
