 | Should I get Cable Buster or Residential? What is the fundamental difference between these two service levels. The money is not necessarily an issue, my company pays for my dsl connection. But whats the deal with the stunted service guarantees???
It makes me think that Britsys is going to seriously oversell their bandwidth.... |

 britsysBritsys.Net Support join:2000-08-28 New York, NY | Main difference is additional services included with the Residential, the physical lines are the same with all the plans but the speed guarantee levels are different.
Residential includes 5 email, Cable buster includes 1.
e.g.
If you order 1500/768k ADSL (Cable buster), you sync at 1500/768 but you are getting 700/450 speeds then we will not open a trouble ticket with MCI for speed problems as it is within SLA of 50% throughput after ATM & TCP overhead.
If you order 1500/768k ADSL Residential, you sync at 1500/768 but you are getting 700/450 speeds then we are obligated to get your speeds to 900+/550+ which is over the SLA 70% throughput after ATM & TCP overhead.
It cuts down on work for us and MCI with speed related trouble tickets which are common, and usually due to bad hardware (linksys etc..) or operating system setup.

One more thing, if you can help me. Can you verify the fax number to send in my order? I tried sending my order in yesterday but the fax wouldn't pick up.
I'm thinking I'll get the residential service, since a 900/500 SLA is definitely worth the extra 15 bux or whatever. Do you credit accounts until the bandwidth levels have increased above the SLAs value? |

We always try for the highest sync on all ADSL plans, but it does depend on the loop length and quality of the line.

If you cant consistently get the 70% guaranteed throughput we will adjust your billing accordingly.
