We can play jesuitical games and play with the meanings of words all we want. SBC has been on a crusade to convince politicians and the public that regulation is what is holding back the roll out of fiber networks.
This is a lie and they know it's a lie. They clearly have had no intention of rolling out fiber, they have always known this and we have been through this same GD thing over and over. The lies have been the same, the results have been the same. It is the same tired game with the same tired results and the same people keep swallowing the same lies over and over. |

| Much of the regulatory change that the ilecs have fought for and received(changes which have allowed them enormous additional profit) were predicated on the promise of building out advanced infrastructure and services, so yes, they do "owe this" and it is time for the government to demand that these companies follow through on their end of the bargain. If they won't the government should start focusing on a more punitive response instead of trying to create more failed incentives. |
