Re: SBC is deeply entrenched

Pronto has been going for at least two years now with little results. They promised more DSL exposure and then hold back so they can complain about having to share their lines with competing carriers. If you ask me SBC will never finish Pronto.

Surprise, Surprise, Corporate Dinosaur.

What he really means is "It's not in our best interests to give people FTTP and outdate all our current overpriced Telecom offerings."

This is not surprising. I'm sure Ed never saw the need for DSL, ISDN, etc either. It wasn't until the competition started rolling that they decided they'd better move forward, too.

Geesh. Talk about thinking to the future, NOT.

Imagine if other "Captains of Industry" thought like this.... "Well, I really don't see the need for building xxxxxxxx" (Whereas "xxxxxxx" = all the major innovations of the 21st century.)

Geeesh! Time to put the lumbering Dinosaur back with the other fossils!

There is still question to how effective that would be. Also there is the question about interference both on the connection itself and towards other forms of communication. Time will tell, but the only rock solid way of making sure a signal goes through unhindered today is fiber optics.
