Well, I DO know that a cable node is fed by a fiber optic OC-48. Your cable SONET ring is made up of that. Kind of difficult to fill that capacity. Just add a card in the hub, and you can service more peeps on a single node. I CAN say that in most cases, Comcast only allows 120 modems per node/card, which means PLENTY of room...

I suspect it's not the nodes, but their backbones. When I had cable modem service, none of my connectivity issues stemmed from the node being full. It was always the cable network at large that was hosed when there was a problem.
