if my memory serves me correctly

Wasn't versign busted for sending out misleading letters to domain owners that their domains were going to expire, and that they should renew through verisign.. this is bullcrap people...

Any company that conducts business like this should be bombed, burned to the grounded, and sued for being a a dirty company.

Yes. I was one of those people. I was quite amused that their "special" price was more than the price of the other registrar (DirectNIC) I had gone with.

Don't be fooled if you think that versign is only culprit, actually register.com is getting sued for the similar thing when they created this "coming soon" on newly registered domain names which they intention put links or advertised their services on the coming soon page.
