New customer built VPI/VCI 8/35 erroneously

Out of the last six customers for which we've placed an order via ASI, 2 of those customers have had VPI/VCI configured on ASI's end as 8/35.

I thought that in every case ASI now does PPPOE? We have ordered all of these customers in just about the same fashion, but I'm wondering if there is something we are doing on our end that is causing ASI to set these customers up with 8/35 instead of 0/35. We end up plugging a router into them and having it not work.

I called in a ticket on the first one, and the ASI tech told me this is what happened. So when a customer wasn't showing up on our redback the second time I had them switch to 8/35 in their setup and they came right up.

I'd like to figure out why this is happening so that we can ensure consistent setup of customers with 0/35.

Any ideas?

Mike

Mike,
Can you drop me an IM with the 2 DSL TNs? I can look into the mechanization portion to see if there's a problem there.

Yep Corona investigated and found it was an error on our part (i.e. the ISP I work for).

Corona - I found the exact spot you were referring to and could then see when looking over all of the past orders that we did indeed set it to ETHERNET on two of them instead of UNIVERSAL. Good catch. Thanks for the help. Knowing this early on will save us a lot of headaches.

I will IM Beachboy though so that he can the VPI/VCI on the one account at his leisure.

Thanks guys

Mike
