mikehd : Yeah, if you're not connecting through a router, you'll need the PPPoE client running on your PC.

The difficulty you're experiencing in detecting the signal may be improved by configuration of the modem. IIRC Westell has a PC client you can install to communicate with the modem. For reference, when I reboot our modem (typically 2-3x / week to clear errors) I notice a 15-20 second synch time, where the ready light goes from slow to fast to steady.
--
And you may ask yourself... Where is that large automobile?

rogerntami : Yeah, I had talked to them, not a local person, but... I ended up resolving the issue myself...I installed RASPPPoE, and it worked like a charm. Although the modem takes forever to detect the signal if it is unplugged...

mikehd : I don't have any specific help on the Westell, but a suggestion: have you contacted CT with your question? If you can get a hold of a local field tech thru the customer service number, they're usually pretty helpful.
--
And you may ask yourself... Where is that large automobile?

rogerntami : Is this modem usable with Centurytel DSL service? I just bought it off Ebay, and am not sure if I can get it to work... If it is usable, how do I configure it for use with Centurytel, ie, what are the vpi/vci settings, etc. (when I hook the modem up, i get the flashing green light, it speeds up, then slows down again)
