Maybe home networking will be the new "standard", and will be the only package to see the increase.

pro upgrading to 5mbit/512

when i was talking to the higher beings about the contract problem, one of the things they were saying to try to shut me up is that their was no download limit and that we would be upgraded for free to the 5mbit/512k pro plan when it becomes availible in this area. Woopee.. like i wouldnt get upgraded anyway.. like this whole wrong contract problem ive had they are going to give me a FREE upgrade.. comcast is just full of smucks. Not trying to start a gossip thing.. but these guys "should" know what they are talking about. Not your everyday tier1 techs spouting trash.

So.... you're trying to sign up for a service that costs a couple hundred bucks per month.... and you feel like they're trying to "shut you up"?

Great sales team there, Comcast.

Yesterday's consumer alert warns "The bottom line is, even though Comcast said Internet usage is unlimited; you should read your acceptable use policy carefully."
Is there any indication when the Comcast to English version of Babblefish will be available?

I am 100% sure that they told NBC that just to get the press of their backs - again being its not in writing,so they will just deny they said it,and say the standard "refer to the AUP".

The Guys at the Abuse unit sounded very firm about the fact that if users do not cut down they will be cut off.. - One of them even went so far as to tell me " A 50% cutback might not even be enough,as I dont know the amount you did"

Sadly, the consumer alert NBC report changes nothing.. it may all be just a scare by Comcast, but who really knows until someone really does get their service cut off...

Well, all I can say is thanks to BBR for making this information public. I've got a group of friends among whom half were Comcast subscribers. None of them are heavy internet users, but were in the processing of getting HSI from CC. Of that group, 4 of the 6 have recently dropped CC and are now with WOW. The other 2 are considering it.

I know CC doesn't care, since they appear to have an air of arrogance about them, but I'm hoping this reaction starts snowballing and hitting them in the pocketbook.

I'm just getting bad vibes from all their actions. And to think I was considering leaving WOW and going with CC . . .

Home networking is hardly available anywhere, and it can't be use for business purposes.
It's available right here in good old Woodbridge, NJ. Comcast wants $52.95 a month for it.

That's the discounted monthly price (for cable tv subscribers). What's the monthly price without the discount (including the penalty)?

* gets out the magnifying glass *

Don't you know by now, the real prices are always in the asterisk?

"Regular service and equipment charges apply, currently $52.95 per month for Comcast Cable video customers. Prices vary for non-Comcast Cable video customers."

Well... they're eluded to in the asterisk, even if they're not given.

But since I am a Comcast video subscriber (I'd be getting TechTV if I wasn't) then the price for me would be $52.95. That seems to be a set national price like Pro is (with the exception that there is no non-video price for Pro).
