If you follow all the configuration instructions posted on the site for the Broadmax, you might get it to work, but I doubt it, because there is nothing to configure in the bridged ethernet mode on the Westell.

You might be able to use a router behind the Westell to do the configuration and setup the EOA, Perhaps someone else here knows a bit more.
--
Best of luck

"Do, or Do not, there is no try!"
BellSouth Westell "210030" on other ISP

natrik : I got what I thought was a good deal on ebay when I got a Westell 2100 (part# A90-210030-04) for a good price... But now I have come to find that this part number seems always to be associated with BellSouth and their PPPoE system.

I'm using DSL from Sonic.net, but it's over PacBell's (SBC's) lines. I'm not sure which company operates the modem at the other end. Not BellSouth though.

Although I have set my vpi/vci correctly, and set the thing to Ethernet Bridge instead of PPPoE, and although the lights all stay green like they're supposed to, it will not allow any traffic to pass. Sonic Tech support was busy and could help me only insofar as to think my settings are correct.

Is this an incompatibility? Am I screwed? Or is there a way to get this thing working on my "regular" ISP?

I have tried IP Passthrough, but it does not stay enabled. It never enables when I click "enable".

BTW, as BellSouth seems to use A90-210030-04, Verizon seems to use A90-210015-04, and the generic model seems to be A90-210010-04. So could I just put the generic firmware on mine to fake it out?

Where is A90-210010-04 firmware?

Thanks for any light you folks can shed on this.

Nate
[text was edited by author 2003-09-30 10:14:26]
