Re: How can I use my bandwith? 786 is most likely your advertised downstream speed in kbps, not kb/s.
786 kbps / 8 = 98.3 kb/s maximum.
Though, because of TCP transfer overheads, you're only going to see 80 - 90% of that with extensive TCP/IP optimization.
786 kbps / 8 = 93.3 kb/s x. 80 = 78.6 kb/s (628.8 kbps).
Also, there is a countless array of factors than can effect download speed on file sharing servers such as limited upload speed on the sender's part (you can only receive it as fast as they can send it), several users downloading off the same individual user (leaves less bandwidth to go around), and congested servers that cannot handle the excessive traffic. Though, your system might be part of the problem as well so post a link to a tweak test (please make yourself pingable, refer to the Tweaking FAQ if necessary for instructions) along with answers to these questions.
Just to tell you, replying to a thread that's several months old and bringing it back up to the top of the forum was rather foolish. Please start a new thread for such problems in the future. -- "I do not wish to be dismal, but I do not want to rot in an apathetic existence either." - Tool |

Not to mention they may be sending to you and every other Tom & Jerry on the program..... Remember that |

Re: File Sharing Poll I use WinMX although I have tried Morpheus several different times but just didn't like it. So now it's WinMX all the way until I can find something better.:) -- Never Surrender |
