OHnetguyPremium join:2003-01-16 Toronto, OH | Question about ramp-up During ramp-up, is it typical to see not only sync rate changes but also switches from Fast to Interleaved?
I was on 192/128 initially, Fast Mode. Now I see that I'm 384/128 Interleaved. Is this all part of ramp-up, or has the system presumably seen errors on the line for which it felt a switch to Interleaved was necessary? My end hasn't seen any errors on 192/128 and hasn't seen any errors so far on 384/128.
BTW - The 1500 packages are 1500/160 - Will the 384 package, after ramp-up, be 384/160 ?
Thanks

CoronaIt's cool, I'm takin it backPremium join:2000-03-14 Dallas, TX | Yes - you can see switches from Fast to Interleave with the ramp up process. |

 | reply to OHnetguy No matter what your profile is, if your "ramp-up" is changing to interleaved, they that is because the 192 speed is not a stable connection. You will probably not be stable at 384 if you are unstable at 192. |

The only reason I could possibly think that they have seen errors at 192/128 is during the first 24 hours whereby I had it connected via house wiring and no filters - and then when I switched it to a homerun of about 2-feet length I accidentally plugged some things in wrong. After that it has been absolutely rock solid with zero errors and apparently flawless performance (as flawless as 192/128 can get). I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best, hanging onto Corona's comment about interleave changes during rampup being possible as a normal part of the process.
The last time it went down was 10 hours ago, when the profile changed. No errors since, and no errors over the weekend at 192/128 Fast.

They're doing a complete test I think your next step will be 384fast 768 Interleaved 768 fast 1536 If you keep track of the ramp up steps post it. Did you know about the »Cayman -- "premium services" yea right God bless our troops |

 | reply to OHnetguy Once it "ramps up," it's done.
The speed profile change does not occur several times, once it changes, it is set that way unless someone manually sets it.
I would not expect another change.
But, if it is rock solid, then you are probably in good shape. |

Will keep you all abreast - However, right now my plan is only 384 - but I'm going to force through the 1500 order. We'll see what happens. I have provided my TN to ADSL guy and he is going to take a look at it.
Nice forum on the Cayman - however, i won't hvae it for long. I have a Westell Wirespeed 2100 on the way. I really wanted a Westell 2200 DMT but couldn't find one around. The Cayman is borrowed from work or I would have been glad to take it

 | OHnetguy, I just wanted to let you know Ken will be off work until I think next Wednesday due to a death in his family. -- If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up to much space. |

Razor,
I had read about that unfortunate happening and hadn't planned to IM him anymore about it. I understand he has more pressing things to deal with at the moment.
Thanks for the heads up.
